London cop Nicholas Angel who, because he's too good and makes colleagues look bad, is transferred to the seemingly peaceful, village of Sandford, where he's partnered with the action-movie-obsessed Danny Butterman. Angel's strict adherence to the law clashes with Sandford's slow pace until a series of grisly "accidents" occur, revealing a sinister conspiracy beneath the idyllic surface that he and Danny must uncover.
